Wednesday, June 2, 2027 -- Sunday, June 6, 2027, 1900 - 1200
The National Conference on Wilderness Medicine in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is one of the premier and longest-running CME conferences dedicated to wilderness and travel medicine. Designed for healthcare professionals across all specialties, the conference delivers practical, experience-based education focused on providing effective medical care in remote, resource-limited, and high-risk environments.

Held June 2-6, 2027, the five-day conference features 24 dynamic CME presentations led by experts in wilderness and travel medicine. The program covers a diverse range of practical topics, including altitude illness, orthopedic injuries, envenomation and animal encounters, environmental emergencies, expedition medicine, search and rescue, tactical casualty care, travel-related illness, and medical decision-making in austere environments. Sessions emphasize real-world application and provide attendees with knowledge and skills they can use both in the field and in their everyday clinical practice.

Attendees can further enhance their experience through optional small-group, hands-on workshops designed to build practical wilderness medicine skills. Workshop opportunities include wilderness and urban survival, medical and trauma skills, orthopedic injury management, and other interactive training. For providers seeking advanced education, the Advanced Wilderness and Expedition Provider (AWEP) Certification® offers an intensive, hands-on course incorporating practical techniques and mock scenarios to prepare healthcare professionals to serve confidently in expedition, wilderness, and search-and-rescue environments.

The conference is ideal for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, residents, paramedics, EMTs, and other healthcare professionals interested in wilderness, travel, expedition, or remote medicine. Whether preparing for an expedition, providing care in rural or austere environments, expanding emergency medicine skills, or simply looking for an engaging way to earn CME, attendees leave with practical knowledge they can apply well beyond the conference.
Located in the heart of historic Santa Fe, the conference also gives attendees plenty of time to experience one of the Southwest's most distinctive destinations. The conference schedule is intentionally designed with free time to explore the area, whether hiking, rafting, visiting nearby Bandelier National Monument, experiencing Native American history and culture, or enjoying Santa Fe's renowned art galleries, architecture, and culinary scene.

Combining expert-led education, hands-on training, and time to experience the landscapes and culture of northern New Mexico, the National Conference on Wilderness Medicine in Santa Fe offers a unique and memorable CME experience-giving attendees the opportunity to strengthen their clinical skills while enjoying everything Santa Fe has to offer.
