The Slambovian Circus of Dreams: Art-School Americana at The Rex
Friday, May 30, 2025, 1930 - 2200
The Cool End of Americana" - Maverick Magazine
"They take the stage by storm!" - NY Times
"Longo is an awesome songwriter..." - Garth Hudson, The Band
The Slambovian Circus of Dreams bring their fantastic stories, songs and crowd-pleasing show to The Rex in Manchester, NH Friday, May 30 at 7:30 pm.
Voted "Best Band " in their home state of New York by Chronogram Magazine, this quirky cousin of Americana delivers powerful live shows and connects with audiences for an unforgettable concert experience.
"Great songs and a whole lotta heart" - DJ Meg Griffin, SiriusXM
"The best band since the Beatles" - Jim Pons, bassist: Frank Zappa, John Lennon
The Rex show is a first for the band who will play their 'hits' alongside new songs and include a few favorite Dylan songs to celebrate his birthday. A cool mix of southern rock, Celtic and British folk, and Woodstock-era psychedelia combined with solid songwriting - a slice of Americana pie that is irresistible!
Influences of Dylan, Bowie, Syd Barrett, Tom Petty, and The Band are there, yet the Slambovians' musicianship and critically acclaimed songwriting stand on their own, building a loyal following from the grassroots fans of New York to the UK and head to Lisbon, Portugal this October! Joziah Longo (resident shaman of Slambovia) leads with vocals described as "soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic." Longtime bandmates Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, mandolin, flute) and guitarist/mandolin wizard Sharkey McEwen bring their own magic to the Slambovian brew with "a little help from their friends" - RJ McCarty (keys, bass, sax), Bob Torsello (bass), and Matthew Abourezk (drums).
