Twist Museum celebrates Halloween this Half Term
Saturday, October 24, 2026 -- Sunday, November 1, 2026, 1000 - 1900
October half term, Halloween and the clocks going back all land in the very same week, plunging London into darker evenings right as families head out to make the most of the holidays. To mark the occasion, Twist is turning its attention to how we see once the lights go down, with a season of exhibits, magic and mischief built around light and dark.
Two of Twist’s best-loved rooms already do exactly that, which is why this campaign puts them centre stage alongside selected exhibits: The Colourless Room and The Shadow Room. Showing just how far perception can bend once light changes the rules, these two rooms each play with light in a different way: The Colourless Room is lit entirely with specialised single-frequency yellow lighting that strips out normal colour perception; and The Shadow Room plays with light and shadow to distort visitors' own silhouettes.
What’s on this Half Term at Twist:
- Free UV Ghost Trail: Kids get a UV light at the entrance, then follow the free trail around the museum, hunting down ghosts hidden in exhibits that only reveal themselves under UV light. It’s a self-guided hunt that weaves through the whole visit, and the light istheirs to keep and take home
afterwards, alongside treats for all who take part.
- Halloween Magic Shows with Marvin’s Magic: Close-up magic from a previous winner of The Magic Circle’s prestigious Close-Up Magician of the Year award, performing a specially adapted set built around Halloween-themed tricks and illusions. Shows run four times a day at 11am, 12:30pm, 2pm
and 3pm throughout October half term (Saturday 24 October - Sunday 1 November, £9.95 each).
- Costume Competition: Visitors are encouraged to arrive in their best Halloween costume, from classic spooky looks to anything that plays with the campaign’s dark-and-light theme. The mechanic is simple: share your photo and tag @twist_museum on Instagram or @twistmuseum on TikTok for the chance to be crowned best-dressed and win a treat.
- Halloween Decorations Throughout: From the entrance tunnel through to the hero rooms, Twist will be dressed for the season throughout half term, layering seasonal styling over its existing illusions to give every corner of the museum an extra, photo-ready twist.
Twist Museum’s Halloween season delivers a multisensory experience that is as playful as it is thought-provoking. Visitors can save on off-peak tickets with 20% off all week during half term between 9:30-10am and 4:15-7pm, or take advantage of the early bird offer, with 20% off across the weekends either side of half term.
ABOUT TWIST MUSEUM
Opened in November 2022 on London’s iconic Oxford Street, Twist Museum, an acronym for “The Way I See Things” gives guests the opportunity to explore the joy and wonder of illusion. Step into mind-altering immersive rooms, get up close and personal with unexpected interactive illusions and discover how your brain interprets reality. The museum is made up of a series of interconnected zones devoted to the contemplation of how we see things. Through a combination of science and art, the museum hopes to bring people together, challenging them and encouraging them to discuss and reflect on the ways in which we all perceive the world differently.
