Who is Claude Cahun? Theatre Workshop
Monday, May 26, 2025, 1600 - 1800
Come join us at Dorchester Arts for an exciting and interactive workshop exploring the life and work of the enigmatic French artist Claude Cahun (nee Lucy Schwob). Led by an experienced Workshop Leader and two professional actors, the team will share key scenes from the new play, "Who is Claude Cahun?" which runs for 4 weeks at Southwark Playhouse in London in June/July, prior to a national tour.
Participants will have an opportunity to hot seat the characters, comment on the play and script, and take part in participatory theatre exercises. We will delve into the world of this courageous, queer artist, who with their life long partner, Marcel Moore (nee Suzanne Malherbe) used guerrilla art to bravely defy the Nazis in occupied Jersey during World War 2. Find out more about Cahun's struggle for identity and self-expression. Don't miss this opportunity to engage with the amazing story of Claude Cahun in a creative and dynamic setting. The workshop is open to all ages from 16 to 90. No previous drama experience necessary, just an open mind and curiosity! For tickets email DRHArtsLtd@gmail.com
