Winter Solstice Concert: Black Hills Chamber Music Society
Monday, December 21, 2026, 1900 - 2100
Bypassing traditional holiday concert formats, this multimedia production is a musical love letter to local history. The performance pairs live narrator readings, with a specialized acoustic score arranged for violin, harp, and double bass. The musical repertoire spans classical and acoustic holiday masterworks to capture the resilient, independent spirit of the Black Hills. This production honors the communal grit and humor that has defined the people of the Black Hills for generations. By pairing fine chamber music with local historical archives, we are creating an intimate, fireside winter tradition unique to Rapid City.
