Wish You Were Here by Sanaz Toossi at Seattle
Thursday, June 11, 2026 -- Sunday, July 5, 2026, 1930 - 2100
A co-production with Seda Iranian Theatre Ensemble
Wish You Were Here by Sanaz Toossi directed by Naghmeh Samini
Playing June 11 - July 5, 2026 | Thursday - Saturday at 7:30pm, Sundays at 3:00pm.
With tenderness, ferocity, and wit, five best friends lean on each other in the face of uncertainty.
It's 1978 and protests are breaking out all across Iran, encroaching on this suburb where a tight-knit circle of girlfriends plans weddings, trades dirty jokes, and tries to hang onto a sense of normalcy. But as the revolution escalates, each woman is forced to join the wave of emigration or face an equally uncertain future at home. With breathtaking humanity and cutting wit, Wish You Were Here chronicles a decade of life during war, as best friends forever become friends long lost, scattered and searching for home.
"It's a script of harrowing beauty. A triumphant mosaic of friendship and loss framed by the heart-wrenching effects of political upheaval." - Broadway World UK
"A love letter to friendship." - The Guardian
